Who are Futuris?
Futuris Automotive designs and manufactures automotive interior solutions. You may know us as Australia’s largest supplier of seating for passenger vehicles, as we supply all the original seats for Ford and Holden Australian-made vehicles.

Established more than 40 years ago, Futuris is Australia’s leading automotive supplier.

From our global head office and advanced technology centre in Port Melbourne, Victoria, our extensive engineering team designs and develops interior automotive solutions - seats, steering systems, pedal systems, roof liners and carpet mats, for Australian vehicle producers GM Holden, Ford and Toyota.

Futuris Automotive Interiors is 100 per cent owned by Elders Corporation, a leading and publicly listed Australian diversified industrial and is part of the Futuris Automotive Group, which includes a 35 per cent equity holding in Air International Thermal Systems.

Our products are tested and manufactured to various OEM and industry specifications and our manufacturing facilities in Taiwan and China are certified to TS 16949 Quality Standard.


Do the tyres automatically inflate/deflate if excessively low/high pressure is detected?
No. The Tyre Pressure Monitoring System is solely designed as a warning system, and inflation/deflation remains the sole responsibility of the vehicle owner/operator.

Do I need to have the Futuris in-car entertainment system professionally installed?
Futuris recommends having the system installed by your local dealership professional, as installation by an illegitimate third party may void the warranty.


Will the in-car entertainment system fit my vehicle's headrest?
The Futuris system comes with two new headrests in a kit. You can choose from a single system which allows you to watch one movie in both headrests or dual system which allows you to watch two movies at the same time.

What video/audio formats are compatible on the Futuris in-car entertainment system?
The following formats are compatible with the Futuris in-car entertainment system:

DVD-Video, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, Audio CD, CD-R, CD-RW, VCD, MP3, SVCD, MPEG, HDCD and DVCD.


What optional accessories are available for this product?
The Futuris in-car entertainment system allows an iPod® Cable, MP3 player, games console, Xbox and other devices can be connected to the front–mounted auxiliary jack. What accessories come as standard with the Futuris in-car entertainment system?
The Futuris in-car entertainment system comes with a remote and two sets of wireless infra-red headphones as standard.


Can I install the Futuris in-car entertainment system in my existing vehicle?
This will depend on the make/model of vehicle you want to have the system installed in. The following models are compatible with the Futuris in-car entertainment system.

Will the headrest be in the same trim material as my vehicle?
Yes. As we are the supplier of seating for Ford and Holden passenger vehicles, we are able to utilize the same materials as used in the vehicle's original interior trim and stitch across these makes. Futuris has gone to extreme lengths to ensure the systems supplied for all other brands such as Mercedes, Audi, BMW, Mazda, Nissan, Lexus, Subaru, Range Rover, Porsche, Honda, Hummer and Toyota vehicles, matches each vehicle's interior.


Does this product come with a warranty?
Absolutely! When sold with a new car, the Futuris in-car entertainment system comes with a 3 year warranty, and a full 12 month replacement / repair warranty on a second hand or used cars, from the date of purchase.

Can I watch television on the in-car entertainment system?
The in-car entertainment system is designed only as a playback system for electronic media formats such as DVD, and cannot receive and transmit television signals. However, The Futuris Digital TV Converter can easily be installed and connected to an existing Futuris in-car entertainment system, or in- roof entertainment system, and will be available in late-2010!

Will the in-roof entertainment system affect the position/operation of my existing dome light?
A new dome light is integrated in the system which replaces the existing dome light.


Can I watch television on the in-car entertainment system?
The in-car entertainment system is designed only as a playback system for electronic media formats such as DVD, and cannot receive and transmit television signals. However, The Futuris Digital TV Converter can easily be installed and connected to an existing Futuris in-car entertainment system, or in- roof entertainment system, and will be available in late-2010!

tyre pressure monitoring system


Will the Tyre Pressure Monitoring System notify me of regular maintenance needs, eg: tyre rotation?
No. The system is designed to notify you of excessively low/high pressure, and temperature of the tyres. Regular vehicle maintenance is the responsibility of the vehicle's owner/operator.


How does the Tyre Pressure Monitoring System monitor my tyre pressure?
The system does this automatically by reading the radio-transmitted signals from the sensor in the tyre valve, and displaying it on the LCD read-out.


Do I need a professional technician to remove the sensor from a flat/damaged tyre, or can I do it myself?
Futuris recommends speaking to your local tyre/vehicle expert or service manager for removal and installation, to avoid any complications and potentially voiding the warranty.

Does the Battery Protector guard me against defective or faulty batteries?
No.


Where is the Battery Protector fitted?
The Battery Protector is fitted under the bonnet of the vehicle and is discretely connected to the battery terminal.



reversing parking sensors


Will the reverse parking sensors be the same colour as my vehicle?
Yes. After the senors are requested they are then painted in your vehicle's specific colour, ensuring a perfect match and seamless integration.

Can I manually override the Automatic Lights-On system with the vehicle's own light toggle switch?
Yes, using the light toggle switch.


Will the Automatic Lights-On system drain my battery when the car is not in use?
No. The system remains dormant until the car is in use.
